SISU Mouthguard today announced that it will be the official mouthguard of Penn State University’s men’s Rugby 7s squad, in time for the 2017 Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship in Philadelphia June 3rd and 4th.

“We’re excited about partnering with Penn State’s men’s rugby team and our opportunity to have a showcase at this year’s Penn Mutual Collegiate Rugby Championship. It’s the premier platform for us to interact with rugby players, coaches, fans and alumni, and introduce the SISU Mouthguard to a larger audience,” said Sassa Akervall, Chief Executive Officer and majority owner of Akervall Technologies, the makers of the SISU Mouthguard. “Rugby is one of the sports that really lends itself to the SISU Mouthguard — it’s unobstructive in the mouth, allowing a player to talk, breathe, drink without letting anyone know that the SISU Mouthguard is in their mouth.  Rugby is such a high-intensity sport where you need to breathe clearly and hydrate often, and the SISU Mouthguard has proven extremely effective for rugby players at all levels of the game. “

SISU Mouthguards are 1.6 mm-thin protective dental shields, made from a non-compressible, perforated, remoldable thermal polymer. Powered by Diffusix™ technology, SISU Mouthguards deflect impact forces and absorb shock. Scientifically engineered perforations create a custom fit and allow for a natural flow of air and saliva, to help improve communication on the field and increase athletic endurance, due to better breathability.
